The evidence for dark sector in the present Universe namely, dark matter and dark energy will be presented followed by some recent updates in the dark matter frontier. Some ideas floated to explain the dark matter sector from particle physics perspective will be discussed which at the same time can also solve some other puzzles in particle physics and cosmology: origin of tiny neutrino mass and matter-antimatter asymmetry.
