About the Program

Practical Exercises in Organizing International Conferences I, II (master course)
This course aims to foster the basic knowledge and experience required to host international conferences. Students are required to form a committee group to organize an international meeting, prepare and hold the meeting. Students prepare a proposal for the meeting and ask if it is eligible. If it is approved, the students are expected to organize the meeting. Students are required to organize themselves, i.e. sharing the tasks, choosing the speakers, making agenda, announcing the meeting via poster and email, managing the meeting and chairing the meeting. In principle, English will be used as the 1st common language. After the meeting, the students are required to report the outcomes and expenditure of the meeting.

Advanced Research in Physics I, II, III (doctor course)
This course lets students visit another research group in physics department and attend for example the paper reading or seminar, present and discuss over their research topics. The students are exposed to the topics of the visited group, and present their own subject in front of the researchers with a different speciality. Through this exchange program, the students are expected to develop their bird's-eye view over the physics in general, and have an opportunity to re-recognize their own subject from a different perspective. The students make a plan of this research exchange, then apply for the program and ask if it is eligible. If it is approved, the students carry out the program. The group to be visited can be in the physics department of another university. After the visiting, they are expected to prepare the report on the knowledge they obtained through the visit.
